We spent the better part of a week on the ‘hard’ at the Granville Island Boat Yard prepping, sanding, painting and inspecting the boat for departure.

The days were hot and long but SV Inscrutable looks great with a fresh coat of bottom paint, newly painted transom, updated lettering and the addition of our home town. It is a requirement to display your home Port when travelling abroad so I have learnt. The plan is to update the sail covers, so in preparation we also changed the color of the boot stripe from green to black… it looks amazing! Gone with the green…

Alex installed a new through hull for our watermaker as well! Unfortunately I didn’t get any pics of it completed before the boat when back in the water, just the one below before the paint.

During our stay at the boatyard, it gave me a chance to meet the Granville Island crew and some good friends of Alexs’ who he has worked with over the years. While having some afternoon bevy’s with the gang, I was granted with a hand written quest for this upcoming venture… I will keep you posted on the outcome of quest.

Logan was able to get in some skate time at the yard after hours too!!

Sure happy to be back in the water!
